Amway Hotel Corporation (AHC) was looking to revitalize their signature property while reactivating their outdoor riverfront area. Following the successful addition of Ruth's Chris Steakhouse to the hotel, AHC decided that another global brand could give a new identity to a part of the hotel that was in need of a refresh. The renovation project involved a new concept restaurant from renowned celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck. Our team worked with the hotel and Wolfgang Puck's design team to come up with a vision for this location, which called for the seamless integration of a modern and industrial design into a high-end, traditional lobby.
The program included a dual-level riverfront terrace with seating for 80 guests, a new riverfront façade, a wine tasting room, new bar, and a staircase that connects to a downstairs private dining area. With an aggressive schedule of only nine months, we were tasked with completely transforming the space, and bringing a new global concept from Wolfgang Puck to life, while minimizing the impact to hotel guests. The new stair and custom wine case grab guests' attention, while an open kitchen and airy interior - incorporating materials such as wood, glass, and tile - create a relaxed and inviting setting.
In total, the restaurant - the first one of its kind in the United States - can accommodate 230 guests. Large windows and a variety of seating options, including an outdoor lawn and patio overlooking the river, were designed with the aim of providing guests with different dining experiences at every visit.
