The Key Rama3 is a condominium project targeting middle-experienced jobbers aged between 28 and 30. The project was developed by Land and House, a renowned Thai real estate developer. The condominium possesses a unique character that reflects the style of a smart individual who pays attention to detail. This person enjoys collecting decorative pieces from various places and matching them to suit their personality. Tidtang Studio, as the interior designer, is responsible for designing the public common areas, including the condominium's sales office, lobby, co-living areas, fitness center, lift lobbies, and bathrooms on each floor.
The overall design concept draws inspiration from the history of the local area. Located next to the Chao Praya river, the main river of Thailand, the Rama3 district used to be a significant hub for water transportation. This facilitated the exchange of goods and cultures along the river by ships from different countries. The designer adopted this idea as the primary design concept to represent the character of the Rama3 area. The design seamlessly flows from each floor into the lift lobbies and bathrooms.
Upon entering the building, the lobby warmly welcomes residents with a sitting area where they can relax and entertain guests in a casual manner. The furniture set consists of a variety of brands, colors, and forms, including vibrant solid, soft, and comfortable sofas, loose stools, and graphic-patterned armchairs, creating a dynamic look. The design concept is reflected in the blend of colors, materials, and sizes of the ship-like oval-shaped elements that flow along the wall panels in the lobby, as well as on all the featured walls in the common areas. The lobby is a triple space, with a meeting room located on the mezzanine above. The concept of mixed furniture is also applied here, featuring oval patterns.
The 6th floor comprises a co-living area and a fitness center designed to promote active lifestyles, where residents can invite their guests to hang out and enjoy fun activities together. The living area offers various seating types and materials to accommodate different activities and sitting preferences. Blue, white, and brown materials are incorporated to add more colors and emphasize the concept of the perfect combination. Flexibility is another key feature of this room. Not only the furniture can be moved around but also the oval panel on the wall can be moved or flipped to serve as shelves and provide changeable patterns. The fitness room stands out with red lines that encourage physical activity. The lines on the floor also resemble oval shapes, maintaining consistency with the overall design concept. Conversely, the adjacent yoga room exudes a calm and peaceful ambience. This room is primarily intended for meditation or yoga practice, hence the dominant use of white and clean colors, complemented by a higher ceiling compared to other rooms.
Finally, on the 38th floor, there is a private sky lounge, serving as an additional living area where residents can spend quiet time alone or with their families. Activities in this room may include private conversations, work, reading, or simply enjoying the sunset view of Bangkok city and the Chao Praya river. The mood and atmosphere in this room are more cozy and tranquil compared to other spaces. The concept of blending cultures is still present through the use of oval-shaped elements made from different materials, albeit in a more simplified manner to enhance relaxation in this room.
