Very much inspired by the book by Gandhiji, and a modern follower of his thoughts in real life, the client aspired his room to be as simple as possible, and to have his vibes all the time in his bedroom. So a niche designed with a skylight was selected for the purpose. A large painting of MKG on the bare concrete wall with a simple seating with jute tapestry became his place for meditation and thinking. The feedback is that it really works well for the purpose.
Beyond the basic material palette like teak wood, form finished concrete, white paint, throughout this house, there is one element which really unites the house and sends out clear message of simplicity that the client aspired for. All the light fixtures of the house are fabricated elements having holders for open led bulbs and they work very well in all the spaces by filling the spaces with light rather than creating any sort of drama.
