This house is in the country side of Nishio City.
Client was a family of parents and 2 kids.
Dismantling the old house that inherit from Grandfather for create a house for a new family.
the Client gived us 2 condiions. One thing was "People who is living around our house can get into my place feeling easier but wanna keep a privacy" and another thing was "Need to harmonize two different style".
Because they wanted a modern house but their mother's old Japanese house is in the same place. So garage with concrete walls and wood roof arranged in front of the Japanese garden. This arrangement is good to harmonize old thing(Japanese style) and new thing(modern style).
And this house has 3 roofed passages between LDK, Bedroom and Japanese room. These roofed passages are actually not only for a walk. It makes their feeling of "Public or Privacy".
Because of one of the roofed passages is in between the area of public space(like entrance and garage)and the privacy space(a courtyard). So these space is close, but feeling is different place.
We reused material of the old house for the Japanese room. And the Material had been used for around 100 years! We could revive it for new family!
