The system of complete urban furniture is aimed to be used in the city streets, pedestrian areas, parks as well as at family houses. The design morphology is inspired by the world of nature. Hexagonal geometry is one of the most repeated geometric shapes in nature. The direct inspiration for the pavement elements comes from basalt rocks which crystalize into six-angle shape.
The H-E-X series morphology uses the main advantage of reinforced concrete. Due to technology of concrete casting into moulds it is possible to create noble shapes, which couldn´t be obtained in any accessible way of different technology.
The main asset of H-E-X pavement system is the possibility of gradual transition of concrete pavement into grass area. The pixelated grass interventions dissolve tradition border between grass and walking area. Greenery can leave basic level of pavement and gradually reach the extruded hexagonal shapes of planter. Elements of the concrete and green pavement together with planters create complete system which enables considerable variability. The elements act as construction set which enables customer to build his own composition depending only on his preference. Two types of seating elements and table having the same size of the base complement this system. Both concrete and green pavement elements are 80mm thick, which is enough to carry any vehicle up to 3500kg of weight.
Bollard and litter bin are set into precast concrete foundations. There are steel elements which eliminate laying inaccuracy of precast foundation and enable subtle adjusting of the main concrete part. The anchors are hidden and covered by pavement. Steel box of litter bin can be opened and easily removed.
Bicycle stand consists of two elements. Border element is in the same design as the one used for bench. Due to possibility of multiple insertion of central element there is possibility to create endless composition. There are rubber stripes on the side which preserve bicycle from scratching. Cone-shaped hole at lower part of elements enables easy fix of tyres of different width. Upper narrower hole serves for insertion of bike lock.
