The
site is located in the southern part of the Wroclaw Old Town, only five minutes
walk from main Market Square.
Local authorities sold the ancient XVI-XIXth century granary to ensure the
restoration of the antique building. Investor decided to assign the investment
for exclusive hotel with apartments for long time rent. Very attractive
location and extraordinary historical ambience could turn this place into a
great residence for business managers coming to Wroclaw for a longer time period or delegacy
and require easy access to all offices and services in the city center.
Concept:
The main conception was created in cooperation with Gottessman & Szmelcman
Architecture practise. Because of the historical meaning of the site local authorities
focus on preservation of most parts of antique walls. Environment of
renaissance and baroque buildings declined architects to propose the renovation
of the older-renaissance shape of building. The existing brick walls will be
cleaned, refilled and exposed. The roof will be reconstructed with wooden
structure and covered with glass panels. Additionally the wooden louvers will
cover the roof in order to regulate the natural lighting of interiors and
underline the character of wooden roof. The major idea in this project is to
combine highest standard mirrored by modern design with historical ambience of
the old town.
