The garden house
Seeheim-Jugenheim, Germany
A young family wanted to live in a house surrounded by nature and light.
The father - a novelist with a large collection of books - needed an inspiring surrounding; the mother also works from home and collects paintings - and the son needs a lot of flexible room to grow and develop.
The whole family enjoys living inside the house that opened a dialogue to the surrounding trees with it's shingle facade and incorporates the garden as part of the room.
The spatial quality includes a big staircase / library that connects all levels of the building, where the family members can be together or in their individual retreats.
