This family house is located in wide center of Prague, capital city of the Czech Republic.
The south side plot is very slope and relatively thin. Question was, how to meet client demand for small space on plot, how to keep the views to garden, how to get a sun through the house to garden and many others.
Basic concept was to save garden area towards built area. We designed house into two prism places across each of one. Both are located on a slope of steel columns. This saved the very important view through the plot. We had to insist on prism as a clear form with related details.
In the basement – partly embedded into the slope – there are garage, fitness, vine cellar and technology room. In the first floor – it is half floor above the level of street – there are main entrance, living room with dining room, one room for visitors, kitchen and bathrooms, in the second floor there are bedrooms, bathrooms and study room as apendix behind the house. Materials that are used are very simple. It means that basement is made from stone walls as a foundations. The upper parts of ground floors as prisms are covered by the wooden facade for more light feeling and nature look. As a two wooden beams.
