In the name of Pushkinskiy Cinema itself already there is a clear allusion to the style motif of Pushkin, or, to put it more accurately, his sculptural
portrait. A key element of the project is its spatial structure, made on the basis
of sculptural portrait of Pushkin which appears to be ‘emerging’ from the glass facade, as if it
were water, orthe depth of time.
This
element not onlygives a greater meaning to the name of today's cinema, but also creates a kind of stylistic 'roll call’ (organic connection) between the building of
the cinema and the
ensemble of Pushkin Square.
In general, this newly restyled façade yet again makes thePushkinskiy Cinema a leader among modern
architectural projects of Moscow.
Contrast
(black-and-white) scale
was not chosen randomly, but with a purpose to “pull" the
building out of surrounding
colorful and vibrant environment.
The size of the cells of the checked structure of the main element is similar to the existing today finishing of the side facades, which is indeed a tribute to the image, which
effectively became a hallmark of the Moscow International Film Festival and the
original idea of the
architects of the building constructed in 1960.
The
principal material
from which planes of the main element can be made, is assumed to be CORIAN, however, in case of lack of sunlight, in some places SentryGlas can be also used.
Structurally, the decision is based on a unique Russian design,
created and patented by "Кreativ. lab." company in 2008.
