CORIAN can change your ambience. Was the premise used as main
idea for the design of our proposal for the new cinema at the Pushkin Square.
We propose the devolpment of a natural forest on the
Moscow down- town. An urban forest. Using natural resources such
as: sun light, heights and orientations, we design an architectural
element using CORIAN boards modulated over the facade, conected to a motored
system that rotates according to the solar light and heat required. This produce
an stable microclimate all the year. At
the day the facade is open to take the advantages of natural conditions; by
night the facade is closed and can be projected images or movies, that can be
seen from the pushkin square. 14
levels were proposed to achieve the square geometry required for the external
facade. But one important thing is that the usable space is equal to a 7 levels
building. Which is equivalent to the actual cinema house. Also the energy waste
follows the same logic.
