Chengdu, China – The Cosmic Creek, an innovative commercial street project located in the W2 South plot of Luhu Eco-city, Tianfu New District, is setting new standards in urban architecture. Spanning 100,000 square meters, this project seamlessly integrates public activity spaces with natural greenery, offering a unique blend of commercial and ecological design.
The project’s standout feature is its "L-shaped" main water system, which utilizes the site’s natural elevation difference to create a dynamic, flowing landscape. Buildings are arranged in terraced steps along the river, connected by gentle slopes, providing a continuous and engaging walking experience. The water theme is central, with features that encourage diverse interactions through play, observation, and the soothing presence of water.
Designed with sustainability and community in mind, The Cosmic Creek offers a harmonious urban oasis. The inner water street features soft, forest-like ambiance with "Ginkgo Leaf Units" that provide shade and guidance, each equipped with independent irrigation, planting, and lighting systems.
The central square acts as a focal point, with layered facades resembling shale, creating three-dimensional planting spaces and cascading waterfalls. Above the square, a geometric ring-shaped structure offers 360-degree city views, adding a futuristic touch to the organic landscape.
The outer facade incorporates sculptural planting pockets, transforming it from a two-dimensional barrier into a breathable, three-dimensional space. Crystal-clear display windows embedded into the building blocks resemble glowing diamonds, creating a harmonious blend of activities, plants, and architecture.
