The special location
of pushkinsky cinema is quite enough to direct the new design to be not just a
design that give the building a new skin, but it helped to search for a design
solution that can interact with
people in a very simple way that can be
suitable for most of them the new facade will act as the link between the people in the street and the
building, by this type of facade the building will not be just a landmark, it
will be also aattraction point that people can go touch play and
have fun with it, and this will help in creating a strong bond between the
users and the building.
the new façade is designed according to two concepts, the
sustainability and social interaction, first is accomplished by using the TEFZEL by DuPont to create cushions that will create the
entire front elevation of the
building, these cushions will provide a light weight sustainable skin that will provide
transparency and thermal isolation for the internal users, this type of
material known for its resilient able to bear 400
times its own weight, It is also able to stretch to three times its length
without losing its elasticity.
These interesting properties of TEFZEL cushions is a great benefit that we can use to
accomplish the second concept ,the social interaction, by filling these
cushions with light weight liquid and coloured particles into it, these
cushions will be a transparent liquid medium that allows the coloured particles
to move from one to other to create a coloured elevation, just like the snow
globe toy, and the action of moving these particles will take place only by the
people when the push the cushions to transfer its particles to the next beside
it, and this what will create the concept of interaction between the people and
the building, also The liquid inside the cushions can be heat controlled by
intelligent sensors to provide the thermal comfort for the internal space.
Providing a vertical circulation along this elevation
will allow for more interaction with this skin, as the chance to play with these
cushions in many areas in the skin, as well as providing balconies that will
allow for the users to have a more interesting view for the pushkinsky square.
