Located in along the High Line Park, this interior renovation incorporates a playful conversation between the indoor space and the incredible views of the Hudson River and downtown Manhattan. The overall design intent is to create a continuous open layout, integrating all the social areas; kitchen, living, dining, entertaining and working, but also providing the opportunity create some privacy by the use of large floor to ceiling sliding doors. Tinted glass mirrors were used Strategically throughout the apartment to soften the bright southern exposure light and offers panoramic views of the New York City skyline. The large sliding lacquer doors, when stored, are hidden behind the floor to ceiling mirror with built in TV, when drawn closed they partition the living room into two versatile spaces. The two spaces, when occupied simultaneously, can function as a public living space and alternatively a private guest room or study.
