The Burnside Rocket architect is Francis Dardis with FBD Architecture LLC which transformed into Stack Architecture in 2010.Environmentally sensitive, energy efficient buildings are no longer a trend; they are a necessity. The Burnside Rocket, a four story office and retail building, was only the third building in Oregon to achieve LEED Platinum Certification. Employing a combination of green building practices, energy efficient heating and cooling, innovative air distribution, user-directed environmental control and all the guidelines of The U.S. Green Building Council, the design team turned experimentation into actual LEED points. An onsite well provides heating and cooling for the whole building in addition to the domestic and fire protection water systems.
