Zanine Caldas (1919-2001) is one of the great masters of national residential architecture. Self-taught architect, knew how few translate the way to live authentically Brazilian in wooden houses, with apparent structures and lush verandas. This project in Brasilia, from 1988, is no exception. Made of wood, overlooking important monuments of the capital, had the interiors recently rethought by the under Block architecture.
All the wooden structure was maintained. Interesting to note, through it, the intention of symmetry of Zanine, who created the great central Pavilion lateral appendages. However, were made more openings, allowing natural lighting bathe the inner environments with more force.
The original green slate floor was retained. He has the important function of bring the outside to the inside. The woods are also the same and came back to have the natural tone that had been lost with applications of varnish over the years.
The central Pavilion of the House is wide social area. While one of the mezzanines adjacent was turned into playroom, the other houses close quarters of the young couple of residents who like to receive.
In furniture, a lot of national design and natural fabrics. The Zanine architecture, spread creations by Oscar Niemeyer and Lina Bo Bardi, in addition to more contemporary names. Outside, beanbags colorful contrast with the stone floor Pirenópolis, typical of the cerrado.
