The Black Adder is a traditional British pub with a cozy and friendly atmosphere and a modern aesthetic, located in the center of the island of Rhodes, Greece.
Key elements within the spaces of the two-storey pub include the concrete walls & floors, the black curvy ceiling-suspended structure resembling the snake’s ( aka ‘black adder’) overlapping scales, the wall-mounted butterflies made of vinyl records as well as the reptile wall coverings.
The architectural lighting solution created by LightWorks., working closely with the interior designers, is ‘rich’ but cost effective, whilst working to a modest budget, utilising low-energy surface-mounted spotlights for accentuation & pinspotting over tables and concealed LED striplighting to reveal the various wall & ceiling layers and textures. The WCs have also a story to tell and lighting contributes with a creative twist. The protagonist: an illuminated clothesline hangs over our heads.
The scheme uses a control system to provide flexibility and energy saving.
