This
project explores the
theme of "transplant" as a tool for
customizing
a banal object. It
reflects
the desire of the client
to honor
a standard
house bought 20 years ago
by
appropriation to make it
his
principal residence.
Result
of technical constraints (foundations
difficult
and wish for a minimal
footprint
in
favor of a generous
garden) and program
(desire for an isolated
space and benefiting from a private
outdoor space), the project extension
is
directed to a
heightening
of the
existing buildings.This
heightening
takes
the shape of a
"box", "tube" that only
allow opening onto the garden
and the street. A slight
shift of this volume cantilevered
on the north face frees
a
terrace open to the south.The
project was completed in timber frame
and
wooden
lattice
facade
covered
in
perforated
reminder
of the
many trees on the site.
For
the sake of integration, all the
woodwork
of the
existing (frames and shutters) were painted in
gray,
sober
hue
establishing
a dialogue with the existing
white
facade.
This
construction includes the
HQE
(French Ecological Label
within the exterior insulation, roof terrace
vegetated, rainwater
recovery
and
upgrading a thermal
device
dubbed
the
entire ground floor
available)
and
provides a second phase consisting of
integrating
a photovoltaic power
generation.
