The empty warehouse shouldered the potential to reinvigorate a community and create a cultural destination, transforming an underutilized portion of Jackson Square. The scope of work included mandatory seismic upgrades, restoration work, and adding approximately 16,000 sq. ft. of usable space altogether. This renovation was a complex undertaking that broke through a multitude of technical and design barriers featuring a custom glass curtain wall system enclosure for the new penthouse and a glass floor elevator, with a one-of-a-kind, illuminated, glass counterweight. The Battery, today, is a distinguished members-only club located in San Francisco.
