As part of a multi-block redevelopment project with Don Vallaster, Architect, the former Davidson's Bakery in Northeast Portland was given new life as a creative office and retail hub. The two-story masonry building was completely retrofitted to contemporary standards, including a new lobby and shared conference room, while simultaneously rehabilitating the building's historic features. The original 1918 structure, arched windows, and grand staircase were all beautifully restored while the second floor warehouse space was updated with modern finishes. The Bakery Block's existing tenants remained open during construction, and now, after decades of being almost entirely vacant, the building is now fully occupied.
