Historic tax incentives were used to help convert three dilapidated rowhouses by Emmaus Services for the Aging who, in the spirit of the building's namesake, provided a unique approach of caring for the elderly. The main door (lower to the sidewalk), an interior ramp below a 3 story light shaft, and a large sliding wooden gate provide dignified access to a reception desk mad of stacked lumber. Other like-minded organizations within the Center share a serene two-story cylindrical Chapel, a Library, and Meeting Rooms.
