The Alexandria Hotel historical renovation is a 9-story 307,000 square foot building originally designed by John Parkinson and constructed in 1906. The project consists of ground floor retail and restaurant, second floor meeting space, ballroom, banquet room (named the Palm Court which is designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument for its Tiffany stained glass ceiling), comedy theater and 463 low income units. The project was performed to keep existing subsidized housing units occupied during construction while providing infrastructure updates and additional amenities.
