This project saw the construction of new facilities for an organisation called The Alalay Foundation. The Alalay has nine centres across Bolivia and since it began in 1990 has helped over 25 000 street children across the country. They provide the children with education, food, healthcare and social/psychological support. Following the loss of a carpentry vocational training facility to a fire, Orkidstudio constructed two new classroom/ workshop spaces and an outdoor performance and function area, covered by a pavilion roof which can be planted with fruit-bearing creepers.
