For the Fall 2010 collection, we were commissioned to transform Eyebeam
into warm, enveloping, womb-like space with elegant design solutions
that would underscore the collection. We composed a set wall and model entrance from three large fabric
skinned tensile sculptures. Illuminated from within, these twisting,
curving and arching forms created a layered and glowing entrance for the
models to step out from and slip back into, as they encircled the space
along an oval runway path. Collaborating with Lighting Designer Steven
Brady, the soft, warm and pulsing glow of the sculptures and the
shadows passing over their surfaces in the space amplified and
underscored a highly elegant visual context for the collection.
