Teach For America’s (“TFA”) regional hub has relocated into a single-tenant building in downtown San Francisco at 940 Howard Street in the SoMa district. Several other affiliated groups also co-located into the new space that was designed to be collaborative and support new ways of working.
The building’s raw industrial shell comprised of concrete walls, exposed wood joist ceilings, and large skylights provided a unique canvas for TFA’s open plan environment.
The space provides a variety of settings for small group meetings as well as larger rooms that are equipped with videoconferencing capabilities to support the TFA regional network. Individual spaces incorporate height adjustability to accommodate staff preferences at each desk. It was important that the branding identity spoke to kids, social reform, and connected to TFA’s mission statement and core values.
