The Textile Arts Center occupies ~5,000sf combined space in Brooklyn and in Manhattan. The main space is located in Brooklyn in an old sweater factory between a leafy Park Slope and the
gallery-rich Gowanus neighborhoods. With its curved felt-covered wall, custom designed furniture
/manufactured from perforated metal and exposed-edge plywood/ and
custom-designed lighting grid resembling textile woven pattern /mixture of warm
halogen and cool fluorescent fixtures/, the Center is designed to serve the
established and emerging creative art community of Brooklyn. It features
state-of-the-art weaving, screen-printing and dyeing.
The design provides an open flexible space meeting client’s
need for organizing fast variety of events: art gallery, temporary exhibitions,
show room, art market, adult and children art and weaving classes, children
summer camps etc.
