Tessel is an interactive lighting pendant whose dimability is determined by the amount of natural light flooding the space. Its shell consists of 8 rows of modules that are identical allowing for an efficient fabrication process. The shell was modeled parametrically and supports the notion of a mass customized product. Form and assembly logic update as parameters do allowing for multiple diameters, heights, and shapes. The top of the lamp features 4 red LEDs that produce back ceiling ambiance while 6 white LEDs are dimmed based on natural lighting conditions.
