The new Tesco Store opened for trading on 27th September providing over 170,000sft of food/non-food and a newly designed carpark for over 1000 shoppers. This project (Phase 1) was the beginning of 3 Phases of work at the Ellesmere Centre and is being closely followed by the new build and part refurbishment of the existing shopping centre (Phase 2). This introduces over 300,000sqft of new retail space and mall areas which connect the centre over multiple levels, the scheme scheduled to be complete by April 2011.
