Hotel Terrestre, the latest addition to Grupo Habita’s family of lifestyle hotels, is a multi-sensorial invitation for visitors to connect with nature. Intimately situated between the ocean and mountains of Puerto Escondido, Terrestre takes the experience of sustainable tourism into new territory.
Operating completely off the grid using 100% solar power – guests are encouraged to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature, synchronising their day with the cycle of the sun. The property’s
sustainable ethos and commitment to providing a sanctuary of rest and relaxation makes it an ideal getaway for rejuvenation and soaking in one’s surroundings through sophisticated simplicity.
Architect Alberto Kalach and his team at Taller de Arquitectura X (TAX) took this vision and translated it into an idyllic contemporary oasis constructed entirely of locally sourced materials. The property features cooling methods achieved through innovative building techniques rather than through air conditioning.
The retreat features fourteen villas, a standalone open-air restaurant, a communal circular pool for treatments, a long swimming lane, and a striking hexagonal spa that contains a chilled water bathtub, steam, shower, and outdoor shower.
