I Want to Live on a Terrace!
Set on a completely irregular lot featuring a historic facade and lush vegetation—yet devoid of any existing structures—this project redefines the concept of a home.
Designed as a vacation retreat, the house is conceived as a collection of minimal, scattered spaces nestled within a vast botanical oasis in Mérida’s historic center. Conventional common areas are left behind in favor of a more fluid layout.
The heart of the home is an expansive, open-air social terrace that can be enclosed or opened at will. This central space is flanked by an outdoor bar and kitchen on one side, and a service and restroom volume on the other.
In the backyard, three independent villas coexist within the garden, each accompanied by its own intimate terrace. To complete the experience, the project features dedicated amenities including a meditation area and a professional padel court.
The material palette follows a monochromatic scheme, utilizing light-toned concrete accented with natural local stone, grounding the contemporary design in its regional context.

En un predio totalmente irregular, con una fachada histórica y una amplia densidad vegetal, pero sin construcciones existentes.
Un hogar de descanso, de vacaciones, entendido como un conjunto es espacios mínimos dispersos en un gran oasis vegetal dentro del centro histórico de la ciudad de Mérida. Los espacios comunes de vivienda se dejan atrás.
Un espacio social abierto, una gran terraza se vuelve el corazón de la casa, un espacio que se puede abrir o cubrir a voluntad; acompañado por un bar/cocina abierta en un costado y por un volumen de servicios y sanitarios al otro.
En el traspatio, tres habitaciones toman lugar como villas independientes pero que conviven en medio de un jardín, acompañadas por una terraza íntima.
Como espacios complementarios un área de meditación y una cancha de pádel profesional.
La paleta de materiales con una gama monocromática a base de concretos claros con acentos de piedra natural de la región.
