Simple and clean lines define the basic framework of the home's interior. This minimalist linework works well to not detract from the owner’s personal collection of artwork and fine furnishings, and enhances the peaceful flow of spaces. The composition of the living area are well-pronounced and -proportioned, with a kitchen that opens onto the living and dining spaces and an amply-open stairwell that serves additionally and subtly as a vestibular buffer to the master bedroom. Floating timber steps that are trimmed smartly in black rise upwards and away from the dining area below, drawing the eye’s attention to the double-heighted void here.
The interior of the house is further punctuated rhythmically by outdoor spaces – such as the earlier-mentioned courtyard and an outdoor garden among the more private quarters above. By carefully placing these glass- enclosed spaces among its internal counterparts, the architects draw the elements of the outdoors in. Natural light streams in liberally, and the hints of potted green here provide a natural and privately shrouded respite within the building.
