The land is sloping in a rocky hill away from the beach, has a trapezoidal shape (471.9m2) and limits on the sides with 2 neighboring lots. The house is set in levels (Terrace 1 and 2, basement, first and second floor) to take advantage of the sea view, not only horizontally and also vertically.
15 years ago, there were no beach houses in the south of Lima, the people spent summer in campings. Families and friends would gather and tents for sleeping around a central space, where the grill, the dining room and the fire was located. People walked barefoot day and night, could feel the temperature and texture of the sand, cold and heat. Around the central space, they gathered late into the night to enjoy the outside (sea, stars, fire and friends), meals, parties and conversations.
The country's economic growth made the purchasing power of people improve and were creating this real estate housing projects beach. The houses improved living conditions and recreation, but also away from the meaning of living on the beach, customs, places and moments of reunion with family were lost.
The house is it created to rescue the past, spaces and forgotten by modernity, lived in camps experiences moments and now, being inside a concrete construction, are often lost by the new materials, which are no longer considered sand and stars of them.
However, concrete and brick have no responsibility, but we, the architects forget what and for whom we design.
