The proposal was to design a tennis centre which had the environmental
conditions required for ENJOYING tennis, building with renewable materials and
giving the right sunlight control. The aim was to design an indoor space with
qualities of outdoor courts such as: big amount of daylight and greenery. It was important for the project to respect the scale of surrounded
area, thats why the building was divided in to three parts: main tennis hall,
training hall and connection with technical spaces. Tennis centre is two store
building with two main entrances. First for players and personnel, second for
visitors. To ensure requirements for disabled persons there are two elevators
provided. U shape layout of tennis courts creates space for entrance hall,
cafe, office and gym with the view of courts.Laminated wooden beams and columns were used for roof structure with
slope to create double curve on the ceiling. This system solves the problem of
rainwater runoff. Rainwater is planned to collect and reuse as grey water for
toilets. Main hall roof material is TEXLON membranes with shading technology to
control the insolation. Training courts roof construction elements are curved
lam wood frames with greenery on the top of it.
