Vancouver's iconic Telus World Science, at the mouth of False Creek, was retrofitted with a full-colour LED lighting systems after its original marker-style lighting was retired after 24 years of use. The client wanted to create dynamic and exciting light display that could be programmed by the public, but would reinforce their iconic image.Eos developed a series of twelve shows, and designed the control systems needed to run them. Eos also built custom applications for the iPhone, android, and other touch screen phones to allow the public to "draw" on and interact with the dome. Users draw on a mobile device, then see those drawings appear on the dome itself out of light. With the unique surface of the dome being round, there was no software that enabled this type of programming to be completed easily, much less by the public, so Eos created all these systems in house. Launched on Earth Day 2010, the Telus World of Science will certainly keep its iconic status for decades to come.
