A Modern Ode to the Goan Heritage
The Tellado Villas emerge as a groundbreaking synthesis of tradition and contemporary design, set against the stunning landscape of Siolim, North Goa. This project adeptly responds to the post-COVID surge in demand for upscale second homes, offering a fresh take on Goa’s architectural evolution while honouring its rich cultural heritage.
At the heart of Tellado Villas is a radical reimagining of the classic Portuguese roof. The design introduces the Parabole - a series of cerebral, doubly curved roof profiles that create a visually arresting feature while addressing the practical demands of Goa’s highly dense monsoon season. The red mission tiles, emblematic of Goan architecture, are not merely decorative but serve a crucial role in rainwater management, ensuring the villas withstand the region’s heavy rainfall.
The project involves four meticulously designed, fully furnished villas on a challenging, sloping site. The design strategy effectively integrates the natural topography, delivering luxurious, ready-to-move-in homes that cater to the growing market for second residences. A key architectural element is the loggia - an elevated, semi-open space that serves as a dynamic interface between the interior and exterior, reflecting a sophisticated blend of traditional and modern design principles.
Inside, the villas tell a story of luxury living. The ground floor foyer immediately catches the eye with its bold black-and-white striped floor and stylish wooden staircase, setting an elegant tone. On the first floor, the open living area features a marble kitchen bar and a pool deck, perfect for hosting. The double-height patio, with its curved roof and decorative columns, creates a striking focal point, blending indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly. Upstairs, the master suite continues the luxury with a private terrace and a bathroom finished in polished terrazzo, providing peaceful views of the surrounding forest.
