The project seeks to generate a spatial ground condition by manipulating the terrain onto a set of artificial topographies. Initial diagrams on the project served to establish a series of control points and lines creating an organizational bands system. Each band started to acquire local intelligence while establishing the overall landscape program for the park: the hardscape and softscape strategies. Therefore the project evolves from a 2dimensional existing ground condition towards a 3dimensional model. Each control point shifted spatially ‘folding the site’ onto a tectonic-like ground figure allowing the project to acquire thickness.Tectonic Landscapes aims to cut up with the conventional notion of greenery and landscaping by delivering a digitally driven approach with avant-garde architectural resolution.Hardscape The depth, length and width of each landform are related to performance and program. Three bands of folds carve the ground shaping the hardscape strategy (concrete pavement) allowing a series of circuits and paths: main, secondary and tertiary, all of them connecting the entire park from the main entrance to the residence and dwells. The hardscape per se channel not only pedestrian flows but also drainage and irrigation layouts, and serves as an infrastructural spine for the faceted landscape. The hardscape acquires the resolution of a luminous wireframe as it carries as well a dynamic lighting effect by night and special evenings. Sitting areas and benches are shaped on white marvel aligned on the edges of the hardscape, all of them located strategically in a series of equidistance ratios optimizing the resting and relaxing spots along the park. The multitasked ground condition allows to costcut the project behaving as a multilayered approach and not as a segregational strategy. Inputs and outputs convey always together towards the optimization of the architectural tectonics.SoftscapeThe project generate an effect of profondeur and intimacy for dwellers. Based on a set of larges tree-bands containing 17 different species- the softscape seeks to enhance the 3dimensional effect by playing with heights and textures. At the ground level, a series of microsystems inhabit the park, creating different visual grains and spatial effects: from flowerbed and shrub bed localities to evergreen and prairies bands. A large grass open area is devoted to locals and visitors, all of them differentiated by the planting bodies among the park. In that sense, one can be lying on the ground close to a floral tree, or relaxing at the wireframed pergola that detaches from the ground welcoming at the entrance of the park.
