This 25 years old corporate house celebrated for their printing and packaging machine designs wanted to create an unusual and exciting environment for their design development team - one which would serve as a calling card for the agency’s design credentials and inspire its own creatives to greater heights. The demands from the client were simple but challenging – the office set up was to be timeless, with a playful rather than exclusive touch, but without causing discomfort or worry to visiting international executives. Group dynamics were to be enhanced with generous spread paper friendly surfaces together with practicality which was of critical importance, especially due to the constraint of the size and access to the floor plate.
Creative interpretation of any design assignment has endless possibilities, in this case the 2-dimensional footprint comprising of an off-setted central circulation spine and the 3-dimensional enclosed designated spaces springing form this footprint are both crisp and no non-sense like the machines manufactured here. This facility represents a universal visual experience tormenting from blend of economy priced materials along with the company and culture that occupies it, it accommodates the diverse needs of employees throughout the day, and it ties the practical and the creative in a way that makes people want to come’ back to work’.
