Renowned in Melbourne for their exceptional tea available through various hospitality venues, Tea Drop launched their first retail space and brew bar at the South Melbourne Market in December 2014.
With a focus on communicating and capturing the tea ritual experience to the customer, the space was intentionally stripped back to create a dramatic retail environment.
The curved rear wall is used as a device to allow the back of house requirements to be concealed from the customer and to position the product as the focal point of the outlet. Lighting focuses the eye on the appealing graded colours on the product display containers and the wall storage solution is used as a feature rather than concealed from view. The counter-line is simple, yet detailed and the materiality and continuity of detail is carried into front of house display solutions.
The intent is an restrained retail space allowing the product and brand to be centre stage.
