Tavarish Traditional Teahouse is locating in Nazi Abad district Goodarzi street of Tehran. Considering the location of the site in the ancient area of Tehran, the building designed with postmodern style.
At the beginning we faced with an old and abandoned building that needs to reinforce. The building that used as a warehouse for so many years. Because of its weakness in facility infrastructures, structures and in according to the lack of beauty and functional indicators, it needs to have physical organization and to define a function. So with client's confirmation we try to provide an enjoyable place with the function of Teahouse with popular and familiar features for neighborhood.
At the first step we determined to design the required places of Teahouse based on the proposal spatial plan of the client to provide spatial relationship and circulation to organize the confusion and create a systematic space to locate the furniture and define the interior wall.
Deconstructing and abstracting from the original brickwork patterns with emphasis on vertical axis, creating contrast and having relationship with collective memories in spaces and with references to the traditional arch in the ceiling and facades considered as the main idea of designing. Using traditional materials in a modern style with attention to original patterns are the main parameters of our designing.
Using the turquoise tiles as a cameo jewelry in the heart of the regular brick patterns are creating some part of the postmodern ideas to design a familiar place for users, because this old patterns belong to historical buildings and remind us the old memories.
Facade is formed by a special arrangement of brick to emphasis on the vertical height and making symmetry by septet divisions to provide the entrance on the central axe of elevation.
In according to small area and short height and the need to induce the sense of extent, we designed by using materials and facade with division of surfaces to represent a vast perspective.
Due to the relief of columns in wall and the requirement of providing maximum spaces aside of covering the structural columns, we will try to reflect the divisions based on this structural effect in the roof as well as the fixed furniture on the walls. Therefore, by setting a regular wave in the roof to hide the reinforcement facilities and on the other side in the main interior wall with light and color we try to create a sense of fluidity and sense of presence.
So that by coordinating and accommodating the structures of space, it was possible to define fixed furniture and direct relation with urban facade to create a desire view for users from inside of the space.
Due to the chaotic condition that is the consequent of the body disorders, the facade was particularly important in designing with architectural measures to get rid of visual disorders of the residential and commercial buildings in neighborhood.
