The scale of its urban location adjacent to a
highway and elevated high-speed rail inspired the design of this four-tower
residential complex. Sited in a rapidly
growing area of Taipei, the architecture creates a prominent profile,
announcing its presence in the new skyline.
The 16-story towers both incorporate large-scale
curtain walls that encase the buildings’ circulation cores. When lit up at night, the glowing towers
suggest a pair of giant lanterns visible from the freeway, rail line and
streets. The buildings are further tied
together through the landscape design and a similar material palette including
terracotta ceramic tile, self-cleaning white tile veneer, metal panels and
granite.
The neighboring two 25-story towers feature such sustainable elements
as integrated photovoltaic panels, louvered sunshades, and “gardens in the
sky.” All four towers have rooftop
amenities including pools, gyms, and a running track, allowing residents to
enjoy the outdoors while taking in the sweeping city and mountain views.
