Set in the culturally rich and shahi city of Lucknow, this luxurious and royal hotel Taj Vivanta is designed by Designer’s Group Architects and Interior Designers. From its legendary history to its absolutely lip-smacking food, there are a multitude of things that Lucknow is known for. Chikankari, a traditional embroidery style and prestigious trinket of the city is taken as the core concept for this project. The overall architecture of this heritage hotel is a unique blend of Indo-gothic style assimilating Islamic arches. The central dome, the arches, the jaalis, the gardens, and the balconies - they all scream Mughal, taking one back into the Nawabi vibe and feel of the space.
The lobby and coffee shop are divided using partitions enthused with filigree work retaining visual connectivity while introducing the required sense of privacy. The layout of the coffee shop revolves around the central bar island/coffee station which is kept as the focal facet. An array of suspended pendant lights accentuates the ceiling design while highlighting the island bar which is clad by marble, all exuding elegance and boutiqueness into the space. The neutrality of the palette, wooden latticework, diffused and state of the art lighting, and sepia-toned art bringing life to the spaces, is what defines the mood board for this hotel. In the private rooms, chikankari is used as digital wallpapers manifested with chikan embroidery are introduced as headboards in the rooms. With soft curves continuing from the ceiling to the panellings on the walls, a sense of subtlety is introduced in the rooms.
