TAIWAN
TOWER CONCEPTUAL DESIGN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION entry

The
competition requirements:
To
commemorate the centennial anniversary of the founding of Taiwan,
R.O.C. And celebrate the merger between Taichung County and Taichung
City, the Taichung City government will erect “Taiwan Tower” as
an important landmark in the new special municipality. Taiwan Tower
should be planned and designed with the environmental characteristics
of Taichung in mind and by incorporating traditional building
materials. Its name implies the tower should symbolize the “spirit
of Taiwan”, the exact definition of which leaves much room for
discussion.
Description
The
tower, with a height of 400 m is composed of six elements:
1.
The basic element, reinforced concrete core, red color.
2.
Vertical central element - a metal structure covered with glass
3-4
inclined metal structures, of different heights. color - black
5-6
inclined metal structures, of different heights. items 3-6 are
inclined toward the basic element, thereby providing a triangular
structure built for endurance. The basic element of concrete and
metal is the highest, reaching a height of 400m will serve as support
for antennas, projectors and lighting by night.
