As China's largest private insurance company Taikang Life communicates confidence and balance, security and stability. The design proposal internalizes these values by creating a volume which is point symmetrical. The point of origin is a spacious void that serves as the entrance hall for both customers and employees. Large revolving doors can be opened and turn the main lobby into an open air space. It is a public stage and gathering locus for everyone who enters and leaves the building. The horizontal entrance hall aligns itself to the north-south axis while the outline of the building corresponds to the orthogonal grid of its surroundings. The facade of the building and the landscape design embrace the concept of the lines of life.
The project is part of the masterplan for the Taikang Life Research and Development Center developed by Henn Architects.
