This is our competition entry for Taichung City Cultural Center. Taichung City Cultural Center is a window reflecting Taiwan
and human's civilization. Culture is the crystallization of human wisdom, whether
tangible or intangible, it penetrates in people's behavior and creation. We
cannot fully capture the richness of Taiwan culture, through broad sense of
space extended infinitely beyond a window frame; we try to reflect the
kaleidoscope of Taiwan's cultural world.

Culture confers human values, inspiration and imagination in
multiple ways. The design of Cultural Center is adopting diverse and unified shapes
of window on it facade as metaphor of multi-faceted nature of Taiwan culture
and its multi-directional contribution to human world.

Cultures are like an invisible platform of knowledge, foundation
on the wisdom of the past. Riding on the ladder of knowledge, we are able to
take a convenient ride and glancing at vastness of accumulated human
civilization. Preservation and
cultivation of culture supply ocean of ideas for inspiration and innovation, which fuel us to develop future intellectual
pursuits. Cultural centers, therefore is also an incubator of new wisdom
and a window for exploring the unknown.
