Located at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Tacos & Tequila (T&T) is an energy-infused Mexican restaurant.
T&T’s design concept takes its cues from five essential elements of Mexican culture - the sombrero, the bullfight, the shot glass, skeletons, and seductive women - but with a contemporary twist. The popular sombrero has been reinterpreted to form a massive 125-foot long brushed aluminum “sombrero” with 20-foot laser cutouts depicting dancing and tequila drinking skeletons. The custom designed “sombrero”, lends itself to capture the attention of diners and onlookers and sets the whimsical scene that unfolds over the 8000 square foot space.
The bar area embraces the fiesta and takes the form of a bullfighting arena. Seated on amphitheater style shelves, tequila bottles are arranged like spectators overlooking a custom designed 26-foot-by-40-foot photomural of a bullfight. Three similar murals with sexy images of a female matador and bull appear in the lounge area adding to the overall effervescence in the atmosphere.
In keeping with the vibrant spirit of Mexican culture and cuisine, the hip enclave boasts chair coverings and decorative lighting with alternating hues of yellow, red, green, orange and blue. Shaped as two upside down shot glasses, a freestanding frozen daiquiri bar sells drinks and souvenirs to guests on the go.
