"Peek-a-Boo Paradise: Inside the Artful Abode of T7 T8”
In this apartment designed for a young urban couple and their two kids, the interior revolves around the ease of keeping watch over the little ones with just a glance. This pivotal aspect drives every design decision. Situated on the 2nd floor of a 12-level residential tower, the apartment receives plenty of daylight and fresh air through the multiple East-facing balconies owing to the large open spaces left between residential towers. The journey of transforming two mirror 1-BHK units into a compact 2-bedroom apartment began with a focus on visibility and seamlessness. The original floor plan was creatively modified to increase storage without sacrificing open space. Walls were replaced with partitions doubling as storage units, optimizing every valuable inch. The result? A spacious living room capable of accommodating ten people, an airy U-shaped kitchen with a wide breakfast counter, and comfortably sized rooms. T7 T8's minimalist design shines through meticulous details, from the breakfast stool to wardrobe handles, each imbued with character. The fluid lighting system further accentuates the design's versatility, seamlessly transitioning from cozy to vibrant to suit any mood.
An expanse of grey oxide flooring characterizes the house, brass inlays adding a touch of elegance. A limited clear height and challenges with electrical routing resulted in a minimal false ceiling of depth as less as 2.5”. The apartment's interior has a calming mix of blue-greens and white-greys, with cozy wooden furniture adding warmth. The colors are balanced, with each area having small bursts of color. In the living room, a custom blush-colored sofa stands out against a grey wall. Opposite from it, a sleek entertainment unit made of rubberwood and white wave board blends seamlessly, providing storage for media accessories.
The kitchen, across the living room, stands out with its bold design. To make it bigger, we extended the counters and added a wide breakfast area. With ample well-planned storage space, the kitchen neatly tucks in all food items, vessels & appliances. A deep dive into understanding the client’s possessions helped us allot dedicated places for each item. A lively blue & earthy rubberwood are used for the shutters, injecting the space with a vibrant energy. The breakfast counter is at the center, its presence illuminated by the gentle glow of a pendant light overhead, setting the stage for evenings filled with laughter.
The bedrooms, positioned at opposite ends of the apartment, strike a balance between practicality and personal flair. In the kids’ room, space-saving solutions like bunk beds and dual-purpose seating create a fun and functional environment, adorned with playful artwork and pastel colors. The kids absolutely love all the storage nooks, often breaking out into spontaneous games of hide-and-seek, prompting their parents to join in on the fun! Meanwhile, the Master Bedroom serves as a peaceful sanctuary, featuring calming green tones and wooden accents complemented by hand-painted floral motifs. Throughout the home, hand-painted wall art adds a personalized touch, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail by the in-house designers. The apartment is more than just a living space; it's an experience shaped by thoughtful design. By blending functionality, creativity, and personal touches, it is a reflection of its inhabitants' dreams and aspirations. Walking into each room, one encounters not just walls and furnishings, but a narrative of comfort, joy, and the art of living well.
