T3 HOUSE is located in the small countryside of Thanh Hoa, Vietnam. The owners of the house are a family that has lived here for generations. The house was built as a residence for a 60-year-old couple to enjoy their old age and garden, the house is also for occasional family reunions, with the hope that this place will harmonize between the rural and rural landscape. wild with the house. The house for the elderly should be designed towards minimalism, convenience and a warm family feeling. The design language with the breath of traditional architecture is expressed through the roof system, the door system ''Buc Ban'' - a typical traditional door in the Northern Delta, Vietnam. The project is located in a small countryside with features of indigenous activities, associated with cultural values, emotional life, childhood memories of the owner's family as well as the villagers.
The Architect wanted to create a space where members bond with each other and have a positive interaction with the building as well as the nature around the house.
For Vietnamese people, ancestor worship is very important, so we have arranged a worship space in the middle of the work. In front of the worship space is the central courtyard which is also the design focus. Functional blocks are arranged around creating a connection where family members communicate daily. This central courtyard also solves the problem of exploiting the main cool wind from the Southeast direction, which distributes it and brings it to the functional blocks in the building.
With a land area of 1200m2, we arrange the ground floor area of 250m2 and the rest of the land to make playgrounds, trees and vegetable gardens. In greening the building, we prioritize the use of indigenous fruit trees, interwoven with green patches of flowers, small landscapes. The hanging Vernonia elliptica plant system is used as a natural sunshade. The vegetable garden is arranged around the house so that the owner can grow clean vegetables for daily life.
About materials: We use locally available materials, flat roof tiles, wood, natural stone,... this creates favorable conditions for construction in small countryside. It also contributes to creating a rustic and quiet aesthetic for the house.
