The new car park adjoins the newly MBMO designed hospital entry building and provides an additional 900 carspaces to the campus. The multideck car park has distinct design features including concrete blades and steel mesh, with a light ribbon illuminating the pathway for guests to the new entry building. The design is in response to the proximity of the building to the surrounding bushland. The concrete blades create a barrier and are orientated to shield from the severe heat predicted in the event of a bushfire. The mesh behind the façade has 70% airflow and acts as a shield against flying embers and full height balustrade. Due to the high permeability of the façade design, there is no need for a mechanical ventilation system. The carpark requires nominal maintenance, the surrounding landscaping specified native vegetation hence requiring no additional care.
