A swimming pool in the margins of the River Douro, an artificial morphology hiding a building, more than a pool, a new space in the city. A building that is better described as a cavern metaphor.The project is characterized by his
location next to Douro River. The
intention of the building is to create an urban relation between the city and
the river, connecting the riverside with the seaside.The project is defined by the
construction of a structure, similar to an agglomerate of rocks, which allows a
physical connection between the city and the river. Inside this structure there’s
the swimming pool building, hidden from the city but opened to the river.
The building is a common public
swimming pool, although in addition to the main pool and kids pool, the
exterior structure is extended to the inside, creating a third pool with a very
specific environment.
