The Svendborg Heat and Power Plant is located on the top of a ridge, making its large proportions visible from most of the city of Svendborg and the surrounding, open landscape. The plant consists of a refuse incinerator, a natural gas-powered generator, and an administration/personnel department, organized as three independent building volumes. These three volumes are composed around an internal work yard that provides traffic access to the various functions. The facades of dark coloured concrete, corrugated panels and large, uniformly formated glass partitions give the complex a quiet expression, toning down the large scale of the complex in relation to its context.
