The jewelry store unfolds over just 35 square meters in Mashhad, Iran, yet it tells a cinematic and poetic architectural story. It captures the moment of diamonds bursting into space—suspended mid-air—as if time itself had stopped, preserving everything at the peak of brilliance and elegance.
Suspended Showcases: Fragments of Floating Gems
This interior design is separated from the street and the pedestrian only by a transparent glass façade.
At its core lie crystalline showcases, inspired by the multifaceted geometry of diamonds. These angular glass volumes—resembling fractured prisms—appear as if frozen in mid-flight, having just broken away from the ground. Their sharp and faceted forms contrast strikingly with the soft, curved environment surrounding them, creating a dynamic visual dialogue. Each display case is lit by focused spotlights, not only highlighting the jewelry within but also embodying the central metaphor of the project: a suspended moment of radiant gems caught in time.

Golden Louvers: A Rhythmic Bridge Between Two Planes
The ceiling and floor were envisioned as continuous planes of gleaming gold leaf. Yet, a deliberate architectural move interrupts this unity—leaving behind a series of vertical golden louvers that stretch between the two surfaces. These slender elements resemble streams of molten gold, both structural and poetic, creating a dynamic tension between the upper and lower realms. Arranged in rhythmic parallelism, the louvers guide the viewer’s gaze through the space, evoking a sense of depth and infinite continuity. Their reflective surfaces amplify the play of light, immersing the space in a surreal, timeless glow.

Microcement Walls: A Soft Backdrop for Brilliance
Flanking the space, the Microcement walls act as a sculptural canvas. Their soft, curved forms serve as a quiet yet refined frame for the golden scene. Their muted, earthy tones contrast with the shiny gold and angular glass, allowing the showcases and louvers to command visual attention. This intentional minimalism ensures that the interplay of light, material, and reflection remains center stage—while the organic curvature of the walls softens the geometric tension and balances the composition.

Lighting: Illuminating a Timeless Scene
Lighting serves as the lifeblood of the project, meticulously designed to evoke the sensation of a suspended instant. Focused spotlights above each display create dramatic, gem-like highlights—reminiscent of theatrical stage lighting. Meanwhile, concealed linear lights between the golden louvers enhance the gilded glow and orchestrate a rhythmic play of light and shadow. This choreography subtly breathes motion into the frozen moment—suggesting that the diamonds continue to shimmer and tremble within an eternal golden suspension.
Conclusion: A Cinematic Architecture of Suspended Time
This project is far more than a retail space—it is a poetic architectural experiment that captures a specific, suspended moment in time. Through a thoughtful blend of form, materiality, and light, the project immerses visitors in a surreal golden world where diamonds seem to float forever, untouched by the passage of time.
